National Champions 2026
Millburn Primary School - National Champions 2026
Simply put, today delivered the most incredible ending to the most incredible season for our Millburn PS football team. Having been crowned Mullan Cup winners earlier in the year, the boys travelled to Lisburn to represent their district in the NI Schoolsâ National Finals and they did so with pride, passion, and a level of football that will be remembered for years.
Across a demanding schedule of five matches against the very best teams from across Northern Ireland, the Millburn squad showed skill, resilience and togetherness in abundance.
Game 1: A flying start with a superb 4â0 win over Lisburn Champions, Tonagh PS.
Game 2: Momentum continued as Millburn secured a confident 3â0 victory against Moyallon PS (Craigavon).
Game 3: A tight, high quality contest ended in a 1â1 draw with an excellent Mullavilly PS side.
Game 4: Knowing two wins would seal the title, the boys delivered - a composed 2â0 win over Mullaglass PS.
Game 5: With everything on the line, Millburn produced a sublime performance, defeating St Paulâs (Belfast) 3â0 to write their names into the history books.
Five games. Four wins. One draw. One goal conceded from open play in their victories.

Doherty Cup Champions 2026
Millburn Primary School football team were crowned Doherty Cup champions following a 4-0 victory over a resilient Harpurâs Hill side. The scoreline, however, does not tell the full story of a contest that began with great pressure from Millburn but equally heroic defending from their opponents.
A defiant Harpurâs Hill defence denied the relentless Millburn attack on countless occasions in the opening 15 minutes. Some great defensive work, combined with a string of excellent saves from the Harpurâs Hill goalkeeper, kept the game level despite Millburnâs dominance. The breakthrough eventually came courtesy of Cahoon, who produced a moment of sheer quality, cutting in from the wing and curling a stunning effort into the top corner of the net.
With the wind at their backs, Millburn continued to press forward. Warke battled tirelessly up front, causing constant problems for the opposition defence. The pressure paid off once again when Johnston reacted quickest to a loose ball on the edge of the box, unleashing a superb strike that flew into the top corner to double Millburnâs advantage.
Half time: Millburn PS 2-0 Harpurâs Hill PS
As the second half began, Harpurâs Hill changed shape and began to shift the momentum of the game. However, Millburnâs defence stood firm. Boreland, Martin and Goligher were outstanding at the back, clearing their lines with purpose and composure, while Newman in goals dealt confidently with everything that came his way.
Just as Harpurâs Hill threatened to build sustained pressure, Millburn produced a decisive moment. McClean found the crucial third goal in spectacular fashion, striking an incredible long-range effort from near the halfway line that soared into the net, sparking wild celebrations in the Millburn Railway End. It was a goal worthy of the occasion.
Millburn continued to show their depth and energy, with Dunlop introduced to inject further pace into the attack. Black helped solidify the defence during the closing stages, while Davidson and Glenn worked tirelessly up and down the wide areas, contributing at both ends of the pitch.
The final goal came following another well worked Millburn move. McCorriston delivered an excellent cross into the box, and McClean was on hand once again to help the ball over the line and secure his second of the game - and Millburnâs fourth - capping off a memorable performance.
Full Time: Millburn PS 4 - 0 Harpurâs Hill PS
